IBM LTO-4 Tape Green Backup Storage Medium
IBM has been involved in manufacturing tape media for more than 50 years and has introduced numerous breakthrough technologies that are utilized in tape media for increased performance and effectiveness. IBM in 1928 invented the eighty-column punch card. In the year 1959, IBM introduced the first 729 read-write drive and in 1984 the first cartridge drive IBM 3480 was launched into the market. IBM 3590 enterprise tapes were introduced in 1999 and finally in 2000 the first generation IBM LTO-1 came into the market.
Data throughput in IBM LTO-4 tape has been increased by 50 percent and capacity by 100% from that of IBM LTO3 technology. The encryption capability of IBM LTO4 95P4437 reaches up to 240 megabytes/second. IBM LTO4 95P4436 tape minimizes the risk of data loss, improves the tape media longevity and maximizes the performance. IBM 95P4437 LTO 4 tape offers the features of data archiving and backup that are the demanded by storage personnel. These needs include outstanding performance, high speed, cost effective, data protection, high capacity and fast data access. Low power consumption of IBM LTO4 tape products provide the companies with green archiving & backup medium for the data centers.
IBM LTO ultrium cartridges are tested extensively. The product engineering, research & development, manufacturing process, and product management contribute in producing high quality and durable LTO tape cartridges. These manufacturing expertises maintain high quality of the IBM LTO data tapes throughout their PLC (product-life cycle). Quality control process throughout the media assembly and tape production of IBM LTO media is very strict and rigorous. IBM LTO ultrium drives and tape media pass the rigorous testing successfully that goes beyond the specifications of LTO. Visit Tape4backup for special offers on IBM LTO ultrium tapes and other data tapes as well.
In quality control process of the tape production, first of all the raw materials are inspected carefully to assure their quality. Then careful inspection is done during the processes of media coating, calendaring and slitting. Then again quality assurance inspection is carried out before the tapes moves into the next phase of production. During the media assembly production, inspection is done in servo writing and tape loading process. When the product is ready, then final quality assurance inspection is done before sending the IBM LTO tapes for packaging.
IBM 95P4437 LTO-4 tape is a high capacity cartridge offering space for 800 gigabytes native data. IBM LTO-4 95P4436 is the most efficient tape technology that not only saves the cost but the energy as well. What do I need to transfer tape recordings to my computer from a camcorder?
I have the Canon ZR600 digital camcorder, and I want to know how I can transfer the videos on the mini DV tape to the computer so I can edit them and what not. The quality on those comes out so much better than the memory card recordings.
Also, is there any way to make the quality from the memory card recordings clear and able to fit in a bigger frame?
I like to tell you a fact, something many does not know because of marketing gimmicks.
Your camcorder is an analog electronic camcorder and not a digital camcorder.
Digital camcorders are those which record videos in digital media: DVD, Hard Disk and Flash.
In very old days the camcorders were analog electrical camcorders as they used to record in film / tape and the other functions had to done manually and charged mostly by disposable / rechargeable removable batteries unlike today's non-removable rechargeable batteries.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now coming to your problem and providing you with a solution
What other answerers have told is true but partially. I strongly believe they have never used a cam which records in tape and tried to transfer the video into a computer.
The ways mentioned by them will not work, as the videos in your cam are analogue, the computer will simply fail to show your cam in a pc / mac and no files at all. As there is no files in your tape, but a continuous recording.
Though if you connect your cam to a TV, you can view the videos in the TV.
Moreover, you can record the tape in a VHS tape with help of VCR (video cassette recorder). All like the old days.
But where you will find a VCR tofay and even if you record it in VHS tape, you will again face the same problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So here is your solution: 1st you need to convert your analog videos into digital files. You can do it 2 ways:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE
If you want to convert a few tapes, go to a video editing studio and tell them that you want to convert the tapes into DVD.
For every 60 minutes of recording, they will charge you $ 25. Tell them you want RAW uncompressed video.
This is the quality in which the videos were recorded. This also helps in easy video editing later on. Only problem is size will be bigger. One 60 minutes of recording will be around 9 GB of digital files.
Please request them that the files should be in a consecutive order otherwise you will be in a utter mess, if you had no prior video editing experience from tape.
You bring the DVDs back home, and then do whatever you want to do with them in you computer, edit and email.
----------------------------------------------------
TWO
If
1. The tape consists of confidential video not for public / people at the studio for viewing or
2. You have many such tapes, and @ $25, its very expensive, its out of your budget or
3. You don't plan to buy a digital camcorder, soon; as recording in tape is better than digital recordings.
This is also not know by many.
All professionals shoot video in tape only. The quality shot in a tape is far more superior compared to that of digital media. But its expensive for consumers. Though a few digital professional camcorder is available with the same quality of recording, but they are each priced @ $ 10000+ and mostly out of the budget of the professionals as well. Consumers buy digital as its less expensive and easy to transfer, edit and share.
Then;
You need to buy a Video Editing Hardware or better know Video Capture Device and attach it your computer. After that attach you camcorder with the device's port and follow the steps in the editing software of the same device in your computer.
I suggest you buy any 1 of them
1. Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder $ 50.
2. Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator Plus $ 90.
3. Pinnacle Video Capture for Mac $ 100, if you are using a Mac.

The above devices can capture video from any video source with composite (RCA) or S-Video output; I believe your camcorder has got them. Better, visit a Pinnacle dealer with you cam and its manual.
